What are Candid Conversations?
Only the best tool we’ve found for busting stigmas and starting conversations about menstruation!
Candid Conversations are lighthearted discussions about our shared collective lived experience with menstruation.
Developed in 2020 by the Junior League of Douglas County (JLDC) Past President, Dominique Holloman, and JLDC member, Dr. Heather Scott, these conversations are now Georgia STOMP’s signature program for educating about the need for menstrual equity in public spaces.
Candid Conversations have occurred among Georgia STOMP leaders and with members of the Georgia legislature and been hosted by partner organizations in their efforts to advance legislation and increase advocacy.
Groups have been virtual and in person.
The format works for as few as 10 and as many as 100.
Do you have an organization or group of friends you would like to host? Fill out the interest form below and let’s start talking!
Georgia STOMP Candid Conversation Guidelines
- Candid Conversations are designed to last 1 ½ hours.
- For most events, one meeting and email communications will be sufficient to plan a Candid Conversation.
- For larger groups, Georgia STOMP leadership will meet with your team no more than 3 times prior to an event. We suggest:
- Initial meeting to decide on format, group size, date and responsibilities
- Touch point meeting a couple of weeks before the event
- A run-through session no more than a week before the event
