About Georgia STOMP
The Georgia STOMP Coalition formed in response to the discriminatory sales tax on menstrual products in Georgia, thus the ‘STOMP’ acronym – Stop Tax On Menstrual Products.
Today, we are a statewide coalition of advocacy, service, and professional organizations addressing the issues of menstrual equity and period poverty in Georgia.
Our Work
Who We Are
Georgia STOMP consists of advocacy, service, and professional organizations joined by the common goal of bringing menstrual equity to government policies and daily life in our state, and by the desire to eliminate period poverty in Georgia.
The Coalition enjoys beneficial relationships with researchers at numerous academic institutions, and holds ongoing strategic nonpartisan conversations with state legislators as well as leadership at various government administrative agencies and departments.
We have direct ties to nationwide leaders in the menstrual equity movement, including the Alliance for Period Supplies, Period Law, and multiple member organizations are affiliated with Period. The Menstrual Movement.
We invite your organization, church group, university, panhellenic society, civic organization, period supply group or professional organization to become a Georgia STOMP member.
Initially a grassroots coalition, Georgia STOMP, elected its first Board of Directors and qualified as a tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Section 501(c)(3) in 2021.
