Madeeha Anjum, an undergraduate at the Georgia Institute of Technology, is passionate about expanding public health advocacy for women and other underrepresented groups across the nation. She serves as the Fundraising and Advocacy Chair of S.H.E. for Women, a GT-based health advocacy initiative that aims to increase awareness about reproductive and menstrual adversities in homeless and underserved communities across Metro Atlanta.
Madeeha’s ongoing work with Embrace Refugee Birth to support maternal education and provide labor support for refugee mothers in Clarkston bolstered her ambitions to address the unique challenges of women who have difficulty accessing adequate and comprehensive healthcare in the US.
Madeeha works with Georgia STOMP to address current policies and menstrual health inequities in women’s prison systems across the state of Georgia.
In her spare time, Madeeha enjoys writing short stories, spending time with her friends, and organizing TEDx events with her team. As an aspiring physician and narrator, she aims to make lasting changes in women’s healthcare by raising awareness about gaps in the current research and policy through educational, legislative, and written pursuits.
